MuemAction Post is grateful to have been invited to the official launch of Sheria ya Vijana Project, a new EU-funded youth initiative designed to equip young people with the skills and opportunities needed to navigate the twin green and digital transitions. We were proudly represented at the event by our Executive Director, Boniface Harrison.
The project, implemented by Barnfonden and partners, seeks to empower youth to engage meaningfully with decision-makers, innovate within emerging green and digital ecosystems, and strengthen their participation in governance for sustainable and inclusive development. Its vision is to ensure that young people are not only beneficiaries but active contributors to transformative national and global agendas.

The launch brought together key stakeholders from government, civil society, the private sector, youth-led organizations, and development partners. Attendees explored the project’s core goals, reviewed baseline findings, and discussed strategies to enhance the role of young people in Kenya’s green and digital transformation.
A standout feature of the initiative is its data-driven and youth-centric approach. Baseline surveys from Nairobi City and Kwale Counties are informing implementation strategies, ensuring that the project responds directly to the realities and aspirations of young people on the ground. Its intentional collaboration with local youth organizations further strengthens its potential impact.
The Sheria ya Vijana project strongly aligns with MuemAction Post’s ongoing work in advancing digital skills, promoting climate action, and strengthening civic engagement. We are excited to support its rollout and contribute to ensuring its success over the coming years.
On the sidelines of the launch, our Executive Director had the opportunity to connect with partners and friends including Brian Koech from the SPAC Network, Mukui Yvonne from Giving Light To Society, Brendah Oluoch, the Chair of the Kenya Youth Climate Advisory Council (KYCAC), Samuel Odhiambo from Climate Awareness Defenders, Justine Kapanga, Vice Chair of KYCAC, Sheila Chepkirui from the Organization of African Youth, Janet Dete, an innovator, Calvince Mikingo, Programs Manager at WeWorld Kenya, among many other inspiring changemakers.
As the project takes shape over the next three years, MuemAction Post looks forward to being part of the transformation it will create for young people across Kenya.
