The Kenya National Youth Climate Statement now brings together the voices, experiences and priorities of young people from across the country.
During the National LCOY Kenya 2026, young people built on consultations from the Coast, Northern Kenya, Mount Kenya, the virtual consultation and the Children’s LCOY to shape shared priorities.
These include climate finance and just transition, meaningful engagement, climate education and empowerment, peace and security, climate resilient agriculture and food security, health and gender, and economic diversification and the circular economy.
The statement is a reflection of what young people want to see addressed as Kenya strengthens its response to the climate and environmental challenges facing communities today.
