No, African Countries Should Not Have Joined The G20 Independently

Amidst criticism and concerns from various leaders and fellow Africans regarding Africa\’s recent entry into the G20, suggesting that it\’s a gesture of colonization and disrespect, I firmly hold a different perspective for two compelling reasons:

Enhanced Negotiating Power: African nations, many of which are still developing, can only wield substantial influence in global decision-making by presenting a united front in the G20. Collectively, they have a stronger voice and greater potential to advocate for their interests.

Symbol of African Unity: The move signifies a step towards the long-desired African unity. Fragmented efforts risk rendering the dream of a united Africa unattainable, and the consequences of division are self-evident.

I fully support the African Union\’s decision.
