We heartfully congratulate our partners, the Saabiko Group of Friends, led by Johnson Ong’any for the successful implementation of the Period Caravan held in Alego, Siaya County.
From the passion behind its conception, it was clear this initiative would bring transformation, joy, and lasting impact. The goal of supporting girls with sanitary pads, creating awareness on menstrual hygiene, incorporating environmental conservation through tree planting, and empowering their dignity and pride guided the entire journey.
It was an ambitious dream ready for the dawn to be launched into the community.

After dedicated resource mobilization and collaboration with kindhearted supporters, including HBCU Green Fund, Goshen Kids CBO, Hatua Achievers Organization, Miss Global Princess Kenya, and the Polycom Girls, the Period Caravan graciously took place on 6th December at Oseno Primary School.
The day began with a morning session where facilitators explained what the Period Caravan is about and introduced the partners present. This was followed by menstrual hygiene and confidence-building sessions, alongside open discussions that helped girls better understand their bodies.
Boychild hakuwachwa nyuma. Boys’ allyship sessions were also part of the program, where boys were engaged on their role in creating safe and supportive spaces for girls and women. To keep learners energized and attentive, a health break run was incorporated during the sessions.
The team conducted practical demonstrations on the correct use of sanitary pads, followed by a tree planting activity that linked menstrual health conversations with environmental conservation. The day concluded with the distribution of sanitary towels to the girls.
As the girls received the pads, their faces lit up with delight, relief, and profound gratitude.
We deeply thank you all who supported this project in different ways. Today, a girl feels seen, is inspired to rise, and is healthier because of your support. Be abundantly blessed and we wish you happy holidays
